How Solar Helps

How Solar Power Works for Your Property

Solar is more than just panels on a roof. It’s a complete system that lets you generate your own electricity, store it if you choose, and reduce how much you buy from the grid.

1

Panels Capture Sunlight

Solar panels on your roof convert sunlight into DC electricity whenever the sun is shining.

2

Inverter Powers Your Property

A smart inverter converts that DC power into AC power for your home or business to use immediately.

3

Optional Battery Storage

Add batteries to store excess solar, so you can use it at night, in peak times, or during a power cut.

4

Grid Export & Savings

Any extra energy may be exported to the grid (depending on your retailer), further reducing your power bill.

FAQ

Solar Installation – Common Questions

Every property is different, but here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often from Auckland customers.

Still unsure if solar is right for you? We’re happy to talk through your options, even if you’re just at the early research stage. A quick look at your power bill and roof layout is usually enough for us to give an initial recommendation.

For a more accurate proposal we can visit your property, check your switchboard and discuss battery and backup options that make sense for your situation.

How much does a solar system cost? +
Costs depend on system size, roof complexity and whether you include batteries. Most residential systems we install in Auckland fall within a typical range for 4–6 kW setups. Contact us with a recent power bill and we can provide a tailored quote.
Do I need battery storage? +
No – you can install solar without batteries. Batteries are ideal if you want backup during power cuts, to use more of your own solar at night, or to reduce reliance on the grid. We can price both options so you can compare.
Will solar work with my EV charger or heat pump? +
Yes. We can design your system with EV charging, heat pumps, hot water and other major loads in mind, helping you get the most value from your solar energy.
How long does installation take? +
Most residential systems are installed in 1–2 days, with minimal disruption. Larger or more complex commercial systems can take longer – we’ll outline timings clearly in your quote.
